Rent or trailer your own boat to Honeoye Lake for an enjoyable day of leaving the crowds behind.
At only 4.5 miles long and minimal development along its shore, Honeoye Lake draws a certain crowd: those that want to have fun and get away, but don't want the hassle of busy tourist areas.
Unlike its neighbor, Canadice, which along with its neighbor Hemlock Lake, is a protected water source for the city of Rochester. Boating is prohibited on those lakes with an engine larger than 10 horse power. But not so on Honeoye Lake.
Nevertheless, you'll find Honeoye Lake just isn't a major boating metropolis. But there's nothing wrong with that...nothing at all.
Will you meet other boaters? Yes, and it has a vacation-y feel. But it's a little more low-key than some of the other lakes. Ok, a lot more low key.
I know you'll want to make sure to spend some time on the water while you visit Honeoye Lake.
